Series consists of newspaper clippings from the “Ottawa Citizen” and documenting the activities of and about the Royal Canadian Navy, the political scene in Canada regarding the RCN, the naval situation internationally and various other subjects during the 1950s and 1960s. There are also numerous columns by Ronald Grantham entitled “Summary of world news” and some naval messages. Arranged in chronological order.

Series consists of naval photographs dating from 1910 to 1939. Although the emphasis is on the First World War, the photographs are arranged by subject and not by date. There is no single file dedicated to First World War materials. Includes material on German submarines, individual HMCS ships as well as general files on RCN destroyers, patrol vessels, trawlers and cruisers.

Series consists of material documenting the preparation, organization and activities of the 1995 International Commission of Military History (ICMH) in Quebec City. Includes lists of participants, travel itineraries, financial documents, conference agendas, programmes, showcased papers, documents regarding excursions for the colloquium and various other documents.. The major subjects include: conferences, meetings, Quebec (City) and Quebec (Province). The series is arranged in alphabetical order by file title.

Sub-series consists of documents that discuss plans for the 1st Canadian Infantry Division in the event of war or heightened political tensions. Topics include equipment and personnel reserves in Europe, estimated personnel wastage rates, and the logistics required to move the balance of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division to Europe. Also discusses the estimated costs associated with these plans. Includes charts, reports, case studies, memoranda, correspondence and draft copies of new or amended policies.

Fonds consists of material regarding Operation Ginger and Operation Essay during 1970-1971. There are general files pertaining to 2 Combat Group, Camp Petawawa, the Land Force Policy Review and the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade. Fonds is comprised of the following series:

Series consists of 2 Service Battalion Field Standard Operating Procedures (FSOP) for 2003. Includes FSOPs for command, tactical sustainment, movement, defence and rear area strategy, signals, administration and reports.

Fonds consists of six publications / newsletters of the 2 Technical Regiment, RCEME(M) and entitled “Two Tech. Tradesman”. They date from 1959 to 1962. In the publication, there is a summary of what the regiment did during a certain period of time and what will happen in their future. Also includes pictures of the regiment and the newsletter also publish a small article on the soldier of the month.

Fonds consists of a general file on mobilization planning and a three volume 26 Central Ordnance Depot Mobilization Plan regarding administration, personnel and technical operations.

Fonds consists of 2nd Canadian Corps intelligence summaries from the Second World War dated 1944-1945. Includes descriptions of enemy dispositions, weapons and Allied operational progress. A number of sketch drawings of German tanks, grenades and other weaponry are present. Also includes many tracer maps which detail various Allied and enemy positions in Northwest Europe.

Fonds consists of one DVD copy of “The Alouette at War”, produced by the Visual Education Centre for the Department of National Defence in 1971. The film uses archival film footage from the Second World War to present a brief summary of the Alouette Squadron’s, or 425 Squadron’s activities during the Second World War. The film is about 18 minutes in length.

Fonds consists of documents dealing with flying exercises and operations in Scotland by 3146 Training Station Depot of the RCAF, including Exercise Tartan Task, Exercise Sa Siesta and Operation Western Weal. Also includes files concerning the disposal of surplus Sabre 5 aircraft equipment and the movement of Sabre 6 aircraft from Prestwick, Scotland to Canada. Includes operation orders, correspondence, messages and various other documents.

Fonds consists of four reports on Summer Concentration of 3 CIBG for the years 1961, 1963, 1964, and 1965.

Fonds consists of documents printed from 16 computer disks and includes all the staff work done to prepare and deploy the units of 4 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group [CMBG] for the mission to UNPROFOR [United Nations Protection Force] and Operation Harmony in Croatia. Includes the following on Operation Harmony: a draft establishment; a guide to tactical organization; briefing outlines and assignments, training guidelines for tasked units; and joining instructions. Also includes documents re 4 CMBG staff inspection, and operations and training.

Fonds consists of issues of the magazine “Schwarzwald-Flieger” (Black Forest Flyer) published by 4 Fighter Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force in Baden-Soellingen, Germany during 1954-1959. The magazines contain military and non-military related information, including commercial advertisements, reports, photos of Air Force members, upcoming attractions, miscellaneous articles, trivia, Canadian news, birth notices, comics, crossword puzzles, standings for sports teams, poetry, climatological summaries, etc. Flight lieutenants edited the magazine, and Air Force members wrote the majority of the articles. Some years are incomplete.

Series consists of material regarding service personnel in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Includes documents on Rear Admiral L.W. Murray, manpower problems during the Second World War, French-speaking Canadians in the RCN, welfare services and personnel policies. There are also files regarding individual officers and personnel in the RCN arranged in alphabetical order. Includes clippings, press releases, biographical sketches, naval messages, correspondence and various other documents.

Fonds consists of supporting documents for Parts 3 and 4 of the published work “408 (Goose) Squadron The Rockcliffe Years 1949-1964”. The work was compiled by Morris Gates, Clifton Kinney, Ron Cleminson, Alex Saunders, Noel Funge, Paul Nyznik, Wally Kaspar, Grant Pennington and Morris Konick. Includes e-mail correspondence, personal memoirs, maps, data, articles, reports, photos, and flight logs. Also includes 1 file “The Photo Survey Years 1945 to 1955 Memories of the Photographic Survey Camera Operators Royal Canadian Air Force.” Fonds is organized in ten files based on references within the Rockcliffe Years book

Fonds consists of flight log, range chart, information sheet and a large map regarding Trip 599, the last flight for 426 Squadron from Shemya, Alaska to Haneda, Japan on 2 June 1954 during the Korean War.

Series consists of documents pertaining to 427 Squadron and 430 Squadron. Includes 427 Squadron files on the CH139 landing on Gaspé in 1992 and requesting permission to use the music tracks of Sarah McLachlin in a video on Somalia. There are also files on 430 Squadron joint operations with the RCMP regarding a drug bust operation in Jolliette, Quebec and an operation in St-Jean in 1993 and on unit commendations. Arranged according to the squadron number and then in alphabetical order for each squadron.
