Additionally, the fonds documents Sobisch's research and writing of an unpublished book titled <i>A University is Born : The History of Northeastern University College,</i> and it also reflects the work of Herb Brown as a member of the Northeastern University Committee, Executive Council of Northeastern University, and Nipissing College's Board of Governors. The item is a handmade fine lace collar that features a Maltese cross pattern. It is laid flat in a gold gilt frame. A handwritten note attached to the back of the frame identifies it as being produced in Nottingham England, and brought to Canada sometime in 1915.

The collection is comprised of a range of letters, petitions, grants and notes from a number of activities, including correspondence, leases, land patents, and wills. Also included are items that were not acquired during the lifetime of Richard Hatt, but relate to the Hatt family in Dundas and Ancaster. Examples include newspaper articles about the Hatt family businesses, historical tours of Hatt family property, and death notices of descendants of Richard Hatt.

Fonds consists of two accessions of records donated by Bert O'Hearn, grandson of James Albert "Bert" Hillson, who was Peel County Jail (Gaol) governor from 1935 to 1943. Accession 2003.017 (file 1) comprises correspondence (including telegrams) to James Hillson in his capacity as jail governor, as well as other ephemera and documentary memorabilia collected during his tenure. Correspondence notably includes letters from Salvation Army prison secretary Wallace Bunton regarding prisoner welfare, and letters from prisoners and family members of prisoners. Other documents include copies of official records pertaining to the trial and death by hanging of Gordon Ross Matthew in 1941. Peel County Gaol letterhead is included in this accession.

Note that several items are currently on display in the jail exhibit of the museum. These include a receipt for the effects of Gordon Matthew (1941), letter from Kingston Penitentiary (1944), letter from family of "Ken" (1941).

Accession 2016.031 (files 2 and 3) comprises records documenting the activities of Mildred O'Hearn nee Hillson, the daughter of James Bert Hillson and the mother of Bert O'Hearn (the donor), and her husband William "Bill" O'Hearn, as well as other relatives. Notably records include photographs of James Bert Hillson and youngest son, John Hillson, as well as "Aunt Annie," posing outside the jail. Photographs and ephemera document the Brampton-based social activities of both Mildred and William which include church and musical involvement. Photographs depict the following: employees at Copeland-Catterson Ltd. in 1960; various lacrosse teams ca. 1900 and 1924, the Ionic Male Choir of Brampton in 1949; Brampton High School class of 1926-7; the Brampton Citizen's Band in 1955; what is possibly Grace Church Choir in the 1930s in the church's sanctuary; the Grace Church Choir production of Iolanthe ca. 1930, Baptist Church softball team c. 1930.

Fonds consists of local history materials about North Bay and the Near North area that were collected or created by the Institute for Community Studies and Oral History (ICSOH) including: oral history recordings, student projects, archival records, publications, and ephemera. Trusler's work as Chairman of the Executive Council of the Northeastern University Committee (1959-1960) and as Chairman of the Executive Council of Northeastern University (1960-1967), specifically documenting his leadership in the campaign to establish a university in North Bay that eventually led to the founding of Nipissing College. To a lesser extent, the fonds also documents Trusler's work from 1967 to 1971 as Chairman of Nipissing College's Board of Governors.

Fonds documents Jack Jones' involvement in a series of teacher education projects in Anguilla and Montserrat that Nipissing University conducted with partners including the ministries of education of Anguilla and Montserrat, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Responding to a lack of professional development opportunities for teachers in the Caribbean islands of Anguilla and Montserrat, the early projects provided teacher training workshops while later projects aimed to establish on-site teacher training processes in cooperation with the University of the West Indies. Jones played various roles in the projects, acting as an instructor, international liaison officer, and project director.

These annals chronicle the daily lives of Sisters Ann Marshall, Katrina Rooney, and Nancy Sullivan while they performed charitable works in Annotto Bay, Jamaica. These records discuss their efforts in healthcare and education, including their donation to fix critical water problems in the Infirmary as well as setting up several educational programs to help children to learn and read. The annals also provide nuanced detail by describing the Sisters’ living quarters, thoughts about their works, and about the town itself. The sub-series also includes Katrina Rooney’s photographs. These images show Katrina Rooney teaching in school, posing with community members, and relaxing in her leisure time. These images offer a “snapshot” of life in Annotto Bay. A larger photo album along with a two folders of photographs also makes up this sub-series. The album’s images provide further examples of Annotto Bay life, and include photos of a trip to Jamaica made by Sisters Claudia and Francis Rossignoli. This sub-series also has records that detail the 2001 murder of Father Martin Royackers, who also lived and worked in Annotto Bay. He was a member of the Upper Canada Province of the Canadian Jesuits and had served Annotto Bay for six years. This news shocked and saddened the Congregation. They were upset to hear the news of the violent attack in a place they considered as a home. The Sisters set up a memorial liturgy in response to the news. The sub-series also includes several drawings from children to the Sisters.
