This series concerns the involvement of the Sisters of St. Joseph from the London diocese in the field of education in Windsor, Ontario. There is material concerned with the religious orientation of the schools and the teaching qualifications and roles of religious staff. This includes records from the Special Commission of Inquiry in Regard to Brennan High School, Windsor, Ontario such as reports, correspondence, and meeting minutes. Other material in this series includes correspondence, photographs, histories, news clippings, booklets, event programs, yearbooks, and regulations from the Windsor Roman Catholic Separate School Board. The correspondence concerns the quality of religious education, teachers’ salaries, the history of Sisters’ involvement in education in Windsor, and reunion and anniversary events.
Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada (London, Ont.)Fonds reflects Thorn's work as a Professor of Education at Nipissing University. Arranged into two series, the fonds contains publications that Thorn authored, co-authored, or contributed to; videocassettes of her lectures and awards ceremonies; and children's books that she collected.

Additionally, the fonds documents Sobisch's research and writing of an unpublished book titled <i>A University is Born : The History of Northeastern University College,</i> and it also reflects the work of Herb Brown as a member of the Northeastern University Committee, Executive Council of Northeastern University, and Nipissing College's Board of Governors. Fonds is arranged into five series based the committee or project they relate to, or based on provenance in the case of Herb Brown's records.

Records span his entire academic career from the mid 1960s to the 1990s, and are arranged into six series. Records include: minutes, agendas, and reports of the academic senates of Nipissing College and Laurentian University; minutes, correspondence, and reports of the Board of Governors of Nipissing College; correspondence and programs relating to events and conferences which Zytaruk organized or attended; academic journals containing articles he authored; speeches he gave as Principal/President; and correspondence, budgets, minutes, and reports related to college/university administration.

The collection consists of a mix of newspaper clippings and positive print images on (usually) glossy photo paper. There are occasionally cropping marks and measurements in grease pencil on some of these images when they were used for publication.

Brown, HerbFonds consists of two accessions of records donated by Bert O'Hearn, grandson of James Albert "Bert" Hillson, who was Peel County Jail (Gaol) governor from 1935 to 1943. Accession 2003.017 (file 1) comprises correspondence (including telegrams) to James Hillson in his capacity as jail governor, as well as other ephemera and documentary memorabilia collected during his tenure. Correspondence notably includes letters from Salvation Army prison secretary Wallace Bunton regarding prisoner welfare, and letters from prisoners and family members of prisoners. Other documents include copies of official records pertaining to the trial and death by hanging of Gordon Ross Matthew in 1941. Peel County Gaol letterhead is included in this accession.
Note that several items are currently on display in the jail exhibit of the museum. These include a receipt for the effects of Gordon Matthew (1941), letter from Kingston Penitentiary (1944), letter from family of "Ken" (1941).
Accession 2016.031 (files 2 and 3) comprises records documenting the activities of Mildred O'Hearn nee Hillson, the daughter of James Bert Hillson and the mother of Bert O'Hearn (the donor), and her husband William "Bill" O'Hearn, as well as other relatives. Notably records include photographs of James Bert Hillson and youngest son, John Hillson, as well as "Aunt Annie," posing outside the jail. Photographs and ephemera document the Brampton-based social activities of both Mildred and William which include church and musical involvement. Photographs depict the following: employees at Copeland-Catterson Ltd. in 1960; various lacrosse teams ca. 1900 and 1924, the Ionic Male Choir of Brampton in 1949; Brampton High School class of 1926-7; the Brampton Citizen's Band in 1955; what is possibly Grace Church Choir in the 1930s in the church's sanctuary; the Grace Church Choir production of Iolanthe ca. 1930, Baptist Church softball team c. 1930.
Item is a quilted wall-hanging, showing buildings of Port Hope. The buildings depicted on the quilt are as follows: Dunain, Belgrave's Water Tower (Greenwood Towers), The Octagon House, Pinehurst, The Bluestone, The Cone, St. Mark's Anglican Church, Port Hope Harbour, Town Hall, Robert Mitchell House, Forge Cottage, Chapel at Trinity College School, Walton Street, Viaduct, Ganaraska River, Wimbourne, North American Hotel, Methodist Church, United Church, CN Railway Station and The Belvedere. It was created by Betty Kerr (d. 2001) in 1984 to celebrate Port Hope's Sesquicentennial.

House of ProvidenceFonds consists of local history materials about North Bay and the Near North area that were collected or created by the Institute for Community Studies and Oral History (ICSOH) including: oral history recordings, student projects, archival records, publications, and ephemera. The fonds also documents some of the ICSOH's activities as a research institute including outreach, the organization of conferences and other events, and its administration.

Nipissing University. Institute for Community Studies and Oral HistoryFonds relates to Mauro's year as a student at North Bay Normal School in 1940-1941. The fonds consists of a scrapbook and a file of drawings that she created as part of her coursework.
Mauro, IsabelFonds reflects J.W. Trusler's work as Chairman of the Executive Council of the Northeastern University Committee (1959-1960) and as Chairman of the Executive Council of Northeastern University (1960-1967), specifically documenting his leadership in the campaign to establish a university in North Bay that eventually led to the founding of Nipissing College. To a lesser extent, the fonds also documents Trusler's work from 1967 to 1971 as Chairman of Nipissing College's Board of Governors.
Fonds contains one series and consists mostly of correspondence, minutes, agendas, memoranda, reports, programs, media clippings, speeches, and presentations.
Trusler, J. W.These annals chronicle the daily lives of Sisters Ann Marshall, Katrina Rooney, and Nancy Sullivan while they performed charitable works in Annotto Bay, Jamaica. These records discuss their efforts in healthcare and education, including their donation to fix critical water problems in the Infirmary as well as setting up several educational programs to help children to learn and read. The annals also provide nuanced detail by describing the Sisters’ living quarters, thoughts about their works, and about the town itself. The sub-series also includes Katrina Rooney’s photographs. These images show Katrina Rooney teaching in school, posing with community members, and relaxing in her leisure time. These images offer a “snapshot” of life in Annotto Bay. A larger photo album along with a two folders of photographs also makes up this sub-series. The album’s images provide further examples of Annotto Bay life, and include photos of a trip to Jamaica made by Sisters Claudia and Francis Rossignoli. This sub-series also has records that detail the 2001 murder of Father Martin Royackers, who also lived and worked in Annotto Bay. He was a member of the Upper Canada Province of the Canadian Jesuits and had served Annotto Bay for six years. This news shocked and saddened the Congregation. They were upset to hear the news of the violent attack in a place they considered as a home. The Sisters set up a memorial liturgy in response to the news. The sub-series also includes several drawings from children to the Sisters.

The fonds also consists of family records, and the Reverend John A. McDermid’s professional records as a minister at St. Paul’s United Church in Brampton, Ontario.

John McDermidFonds documents the North Bay Teachers' College branch's involvement in a Junior Red Cross program in which branches around the world created and exchanged portfolios (scrapbooks) in order to foster international understanding. Each scrapbook contains information about the branch that created it, its home country, city, and institution. The scrapbooks include photographs, drawings, paintings, handicraft samples, newspaper clippings, essays, and descriptions.
