Lina Agnes Duke fonds

The Lina Agnes Duke fonds consists of four typed copies of recollections written by Lina Agnes Duke. Two of the texts are about the couple’s time in Northern Ontario, more specifically in Moose Factory, and two short texts are on her teen years. The fonds provides an insight and perspective of non-indigenous missionaries visiting Indigenous communities of Northern Ontario.

The United Copper Nickel Workers (UCNW) fonds consists of three records that document a particular era of the history of the nickel industry in Canada: World War II. More specifically, the Constitution and by-laws of the union attest to the objectives of its members, while the agreement with Inco provides insights on working conditions. The brief submitted by Inco to the National War Labour Board in 1943 also provides information on labour relations during the war.

H. Young, registrar of Trinity College, to Pickford acknowledging Pickford's intention to write the primary examination.

Mary E. White fonds

The fonds includes five series. Series one consists of correspondence files of organizations Mary E. White was involved with, in particular the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the Classical Association of Canada, and of general correspondence. Series two consists of files of writings, speeches, talks, and lectures by Professor White, including an unpublished manuscript of a book on the Peisistratidai and a University of Toronto Convocation address to honour courses in the humanities. Series three consists of examination papers, mainly from Trinity College, Oxford, and Newnham College, Oxford, for the period 1873-1894. Series four consists of files of reading and lecture notes in Greek and Roman history. Series five consists of papers and off-prints of works by other people, probably in large part manuscripts received for publication in "Phoenix."

Fonds contains autograph poems by both Lampman and Scott, a bound volume with two Lampman poems presented to the College by Scott, various poems by Lampman and Scott printed on cards or in booklets and sent as Christmas cards along with Christmas greetings to "Shortt” [the Reverend Charles Harper Shortt who was a fellow student of Lampman’s at Trinity].

Fonds documents all aspects of Trinity College's program of granting in absentia music degrees in Britain
from its inception in 1885 to its demise in 1891. Included in this material is correspondence with practicing
musicians, with those administering the program in Britain, and with various university and government
officials. There are administrative records such as calendars, degree requirements and formal
examination papers. Formal and legal documents, such as the “Memorial” and responses to it, as well as
communications with university chancellors show the increasing opposition to the program. Many
newspaper and journal clippings document these events.

The fonds deals with records relating to St Hilda's College from its founding until 2004. Most of them are from the office of the head of St Hilda's College (whose title changed over the years from Lady Principal to Principal and Dean of Women to Dean of Women and Dean of St Hilda's. Records include correspondence, student records, committee minutes, reports and statistics, photographs, policies, budgets and other administrative records. Note that there are no documents for the period 1953-1978 when Katharine Darroch was in office.

Charles R. Feilding

Fonds consists of materials written by Feilding in his academic and administrative capacities, including unpublished book manuscripts, articles, sermons, radio broadcasts, newsletters, daybooks, and notes. The subject matter is weighted towards explication and criticism of the Marriage Canon as well as divorce and homosexuality under Anglican Church law. The fonds also contains research materials collected by Feilding (journal and magazine articles, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and books), correspondence (predominantly with H.R.S. Ryan) and minutes from the Commission on Marriage and Related Matters. Also included is a pastel drawing of Feilding by Constance Wingert.

Fonds contains scholarly and personal documents, correspondence, and photographs from Derwyn Owen’s time as a scholar before, during, and after his time at Trinity College. Files include subject notes, lecture notes, thesis materials, manuscripts, reading lists, and class lists from Owen’s time as a Fellow and Lecturer at Trinity College as well as correspondence and reviews relating to his published works. Files also include personal correspondence, primarily with Anne Armour (later Mrs. Owen), diaries, passports, and personal and professional certificates. Also included are pamphlets, programs, letters, official papers, newspaper clippings, speeches and other documents from his tenure as Provost of Trinity College (1957-1971).
