Series consists of a ceramic depiction of a church inscribed with the word: Alajärvi (This is a depiction of the church in Alajärvi, Finland where Eeva Annikki Kantokoski was baptized in 1924.); an annotated pocket-sized "New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Translated out of the Original Greek and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised by his Majesty's Special Command," published in London by Collins' Clear-Type Press in 1936 (This pocket-sized bible was a gift given to Ann Koski on the occasion of her confirmation by her Confirmation Teacher pastor [Mathew H. Lepisto], and is signed by him); and a book entitled: "Jane Withers Twentieth-Century Fox Film Star - Her Life Story," published in Racine, Wisconsin by Whitman Publishing Company, 1936 (The inside cover of the book is annotated and reads: Christmas 1936 to Anne Koski From Veikko Koski).

This series consists of the administrative and legislative records of the District of Brock which replaced the administrative powers of the magistrates of the Quarter Sessions. The series is divided into the following subseries:
A) Minutes
B) By-laws
C) Finance
C1 – Treasurer
C2 – Auditor
D) Warden
E) Clerk
F) Council

The first subseries consists of the Minutes of the District Council, which are divided into three volumes. A part of this series includes motions and rough minutes.

The second subseries contains the hand-written by-laws of the District Council, and loose drafts and copies of by-laws.

The third subseries includes letters, assessment lists and statements that provide an excellent picture of the raising and expenditure of monies as well as provides information on some of the County’s earliest settlers. This subseries is divided into two sub-subseries: Treasurer and Auditor. The Treasurer's (H.C. Barwick, 1842-1853) records consist of general correspondence, assessment lists, and a variety of financial statements and accounts. Correspondence includes requests from individuals for reassessment of their property taxes whereas Assessment records include lists of lands returned by the assessors of several townships in the District of Brock. These lists include the name of the Township and the description of the portion of each lot, concession and acreage. In addition, there are eleven bound volumes which give assessment information from all of the townships except Burford. Financial statements cover a number of areas such as receipts and disbursements of taxes arising out of Wild Land taxes, statements of the County House and Gaol Fund and statements related to Public Improvements and the School Fund. Accounts include general accounts for services provided as well as a School monies account ledger. The Auditors records consist of audited accounts, statements, reports, and applications for the office of the Auditor.

The fourth subseries contains the Warden’s files, 1842-1849. The first Warden of the new District Council appointed by the Governor was Peter Boyle de Blaquire, the standing local member of the Provincial legislative council.

The fifth subseries consists of the Clerk’s files. It contains miscellaneous correspondence and copies of proceedings of public meetings. The appointed clerk of the District of Brock was William Lapenotiere, a son of a post captain at the battle of Trafalgar.

The last subseries, Council files, presents a detailed account of the structure of the District Council; such topics include building of roads and bridges and the provision of education.

This series is divided into two subseries: Court (A) and Gaol (B). The Court records include reports, summons, notices regarding Coroner’s Inquests, some records of court cases, and general fee funds and rough minutes of court. In addition, a ledger contains a list of land offered by the Sheriff. The Gaol records include several letters concerning the management of the Gaol.

Series consists of two books on Canada. The map from"Canada, an essay" was removed and encapsulated, while "Appendix to report..." is stored in over-sized box 5.

Series consists of a type-written copy of "Memoirs of My Life" by George Wilson, c1862. It was written in Montreal, and dedicated to Sarah (his wife). The series also includes one edition of the Port Hope Evening Guide (17 Jun 1929), as published by Geo. Wilson.

This scrapbook contains sports records, examination records, various memos, and schedules pertaining to Trinity College School 1867-1868. Author unknown.

Series consists of a thirty-six (36) page photograph album, with fifteen (15) pages of black and white and sepia coloured photographs. Photographs include Walton Street, Drill Shed on Queen Street, Midland Railway station, 1878 flood, rural scenes, unidentified family portraits. It also includes images from Cleveland.

This series contains records relating to William Murch's business as a bookseller, including:

• A notebook containing records of transactions.
• A card advertising Murch's American suppliers.
• A passbook containing records of transactions and a list of advertisers.
• Notes from John Coyne, secretary, regarding payments received.
• A memorandum regarding a loan to the Methodist Church Sunday School.

Series consists of a watercolour painting, not dated, and a photograph of John Forster, ca. 1880.

Series consists of one (1) autograph album originally owned by Josephine Caroline Stuart Grant when she attended Brookhurst School in Cobourg, c1878-1881. The book contains passages from literature, personal messages, signatures, and small drawings, by Josephine's classmates and others whom she encountered during her time at Brookhurst, and living at Ballintruan in Port Hope.

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings pertaining to life at Trinity College School. Dates are unknown other then one or two specific references to 1884 and 1885. Original identification is unknown.

This series contains correspondence and other records pertaining to Archibald McLachlin’s position as returning Officer for West Elgin County for the election years 1878, 1879, and 1882, and the returning Officer for East Elgin County for the election year 1886. Letters from the Attorney General Department, voter registration sheets, polling station reports, and copies of the Dominion Election Act and Ontario Election Act are included. Also included are unused ballots for the 1882 Dominion election in the West riding of Elgin County. The ballots are erroneously dated “1822.”

Series consists of a note with regards to fees to Coroner's Constables; Act and Amendments respecting the Registration of Births, Marriages and Death in Ontario, 1870; and a pamphlet on titled "Cannabis Indica. East Indian Hemp.", published by Tilden & Co. Manufacturing Pharmaceutists & Chemists, discussing the medical uses for it and over 100 other drugs.
