Alfred Malcomson fonds

Fonds consists of photographs of aeroplanes and family home movies created by Alfred Malcomson, who worked at the factory of the de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited, Toronto, an aircraft manufacturer during the Second World War; he also worked as machine operator and designer creating the moulds for automobile parts for General Motors vehicles following the war.

Fonds consists of one small photo album with handwritten notes and fifteen small black and white photos taken during the Second World War. Includes two small newspaper clippings. These photos were collected by Iris Birtwistle and other female volunteers at the Catholic Soldiers Club in Aldershot, United Kingdom. Also includes five mounted photographs, some duplicates, of members of 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade Anti-Tank Coy., Canadian Active Service Force (C.A.S.F.) and Headquarters 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade.

Collection consists of material compiled by Dr. Mary Isabel Mackey Kelly relating to the Port Arthur school system from 1970 to 1980 with the intention of producing a book on the subject. The book never came about but the collection of notes and manuscripts, almost all of which she transcribed and typed herself from the originals, remains in the form of binders.

Fonds consists of material documenting Robert A. Logan's activities with the Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1922 to investigate conditions effecting aircraft in the Arctic Islands. Includes correspondence re Logan's aerial photography training and aerial navigation training, the early history of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the First World War operations, arctic flying and sovereignty questions in 1922. There is are various documents about the RCAF Ground Instructional Section and Photographic Section during the early 1920s.

McLaughlin by the National Archives of Canada and consists of documents pertaining to the Acadian Club raid and the attempt to gain restitution from the government. The file contains copies of letters by N.A. Zick, President of the Acadian Club, W.G. Weichel, M.P., Sir Sam Hughes, Minister of Militia and Defence, and others, as well as a memorandum of damage done and recommendation of the Court of Inquiry.

This fonds consists primarily of three folders titled Correspondence, The Guelph Fountain, and Minutes 1982-1983. The correspondence folder includes materials related to the committee’s business activities such as income and expense summaries, newspaper clippings, photographs, an agreement between William McElcheran and the committee, and pledges received. The folder, the Guelph Fountain contains progress and cash reconciliation reports, a case statement, a Guelph Italian Fountain Committee Constitution, and some correspondence materials. The minutes folder documents the primary decisions of the committee. The photographs document the development of the sculpture and the unveiling of The Family statute in 1985.

The collection consists of articles and research notes written by Kenneth Roberts and Philip Shackleton who, together, wrote a canoe history entitled "The Canoe." Also included are photographs for "The Canoe" and correspondence regarding the museum; Kirk Wipper's collection of canoe related articles and correspondence and minutes of the Kanawa and Trent/Kanawa Boards of Directors; and the records and correspondence which were collected by Michael Ketemer, former Haliburton site manager of the Canadian Canoe Museum.
