Newspaper clippings

Series consists of newspaper articles chronicling a trip taken by the Club to Cleveland, Ohio, May 5, 1931. During this trip, the Lawyers Club donated black silk robes to the judges of Cleveland's Court of Appeals, and this is the main focus of most of the articles. There are also photocopies of the originals here, for preservation purposes.

Speakers lists

Series consists of a partial list of speakers from 1968 to 1985 and a list of speakers from 1986 to 1988.

Members lists

Series consists of compiled lists, published lists, and computer printouts and/or photocopies of the Club's mailing list for 1989-1991. There are no lists for the period between 1969 and 1986.

Pamphlets

Series consists of an informational pamphlet about the Lawyers Club. Includes a list of past presidents, the functions of the Lawyers Club, and the officers at the time of publication.

Charter and bylaws

Series consists of copies of the charter and bylaws as amended and published periodically by The Lawyers Club.

Letters patent and annual returns

Series consists of the 1922 letters patent by which the Club became incorporated, the 1931 supplementary letters patent which amended those of 1922, and those reports sent by the Club to the government annually containing information and statistics for each year from 1929 to 1957.

Bound minute volumes

Series consists of bound collections of minutes from both trustees' meetings and meetings of the general membership.

Trustees' files

Series consists of records created and maintained by the trustees of The Lawyers Club during their time in office. These records document the work of the trustees to organize club events and manage the club's finances. Records in this series include minutes, reports, agendas, memoranda, financial statements, newspaper clippings, notes, notices, and lists.

Catering Chairman files

Series consists of records created and maintained by the Catering Chairman of The Lawyers Club. There are no records between 1971 and 1982, or between 1988 and 1995.

Corresponding secretary's files

Series consists of those records created or used by the office of the corresponding secretary. Series has been divided into two sub-series: correspondence, and notices and minutes.

Past presidents' files

Series consists of records created and maintained by the immediate past president. The series includes records relating to the planning of the Past Presidents' Dinner. The majority of the records are those of E.R. Murray, past president for the 1971/72 year.

Vice-president's files

Series consists of those records produced or used by the office of the vice-president. Includes correspondence, memoranda, information regarding the organizing of the 1987 Spring Dance, and records generated while arranging for speakers for the 1987/88 year.

"Direction" : [student newspaper]

Series consists of issues of "Direction", a "community newspaper published monthly...and supported by the Student Union". Founded in 1974 by Ivan Fernandez and Ted Schmidt, both members of the Student Union, the paper was designed to address two problems the pair saw at Humber: (1) The lack of student interest in Humber affairs, and (2) The lack of communication between the Student Union and the students broadly.
