The UTSC Photographic Services fonds covers the years of approximately 1964 and 1966 to 2008. The collection represents an invaluable visual history of the University of Toronto Scarborough campus and is made up almost entirely of photographic materials – negatives, contact sheets, slides, and prints.

Photographs in the collection from the 1970s to 1994 are attributed to David Harford and photographs from 1994 onward are attributed to Ken Jones. Photographs cover a broad range of subjects, such as the buildings and grounds of UTSC, campus events, faculty, staff, students, and much more.

Fonds consists of slides focusing on the architecture of Peel County, but including images from elsewhere in the province. While Beck was a resident of northern Chinguacousy Township, now part of the Town of Caledon, her images skew to downtown Brampton. Building types include houses, cabins, churches, schools, train stations, theatres, and mail boxes.

Photographs were taken in all of Peel's townships.

The collection consists of photographs created by Henry G Hines (Harry) and William H. Hines (Bill) over the course of the operation of his photographic studio in London from 1906-1929. The collection includes original glass plate photographic negatives commissioned by various City of London affiliates, local businesses, private individuals and the photographer's personal photographs. There are images of London with focus in east London mainly of industry, manufacturing and commercial for promotion and Port Stanley scenes. Also included are prints, and copies of Hines' photographs collected by Alan Noon and copy prints and digital images of all photographs created by Noon and given as part of the donation.

This fonds is comprised of b&w photographs scanned for the Western Archives from photograph albums loaned to us by Westland descendants in 2006. The photographs were selected from the albums based on their local interest in the topics photographed. There are scanned copies of pictures of London and Middlesex County (including areas now part of London including Lambeth and Byron), Port Stanley, Sarnia and other surrounding villages and rural areas in southwestern Ontario. Westland took the photographs between ca.1905-12. There are many local landmarks, events and views that were of interest to Leonard Westland.

The fonds consists of photographic negatives featuring members of the Patteson family. Most of the photographs on the glass plate negatives were taken by Rose MacInnes (nee Patteson) and feature the Pattesons on their estate in Eastwood, Ontario (the former Admiral Henry Vansittart property). The film negatives feature Daisy (Christine Millicent) Moss (nee Patteson) and her son Pat (Thomas) Moss.

This artificial collection contains more than 6,000 images, mainly of London Ontario and southwestern Ontario region. Subjects include: buildings and streetscapes, civic events, exhibitions and royal visits, farm scenes, industrial scenes and railways, natural and other disasters, individuals (officials, academics etc.), groups (workers, school children, etc.), recreational scenes and sporting events. The images were largely removed from their original context in family or other fonds for ease of item level description.

Records include the minutes from the board meetings, promotional and advertising series, Beef Herd Improvement Records and Cow/Calf Club records. The records cover a small period of the organization. Minutes include financial records, correspondence and reports from various committees and agricultural organizations.

Collection consists of 287 post cards from communities throughout Peel, collected by Richard L. Frost. While assembled from a variety of sources by Frost as a private citizen, he was then the Chief Administrative Officer for the Region of Peel.

Specifically pictured in the selection are Alton, Belfountain, Bolton, Brampton, Caledon Township, Caledon East, Cataract. Cheltenham, Churchville, Clarkson, Cooksville, Dixie, Eldorado Park, Erindale, Forks of the Credit, Huttonville, Inglewood, Lorne Park, Malton, Meadowvale, Mississauga, Port Credit, and Streetsville. Limited postcards from outside Peel are included, showing Norval, Owen Sound, and Port Hope.

Photographs depict the Smith family during their construction of and residence at Bayside farm. Later photographs depict the town of Whitby, notable landmarks, and prominent events throughout the life of Mildred Pascoe (1927-1985), a great-granddaughter of the Smith patriarch who maintained and organized the Smith family’s records.
