The collection consists of a variety of material relating to the professional and private lives of May Irwin and her sister Flora. As one of North America’s foremost “coon shouters,” May Irwin engaged in and benefited from the deeply racist traditions of minstrel music and blackface performance in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Irwin’s musical records constitute hate speech.

Records are arranged in files. Record types include the following: personal letters, articles, newspaper clippings, sheet music, playbills (paper and satin), tourist publications, and magazines.

Sous-founds consists of correspondence, photographs, newspaper articles, transcriptions, and a book related to specific members and genealogy of the Greenwood family. Correspondence is between local historian, Brian Winter, and several members of the Greenwood family in an attempt to surmise biographical information on Viscount Greenwood and the Greenwood family in general. Where possible, series have been separated into specific family members to compartmentalize information collected on these individuals. Sous-fonds is divided into the following series: William Hamer Greenwod; Mary Harriet Greenwood; Gladys Greenwood (nee Rodney); Photographs; Books; and Miscellaneous Correspondence.

Sous-fonds consists of original textual records created by John Hamer Greenwood relating to his career as a lawyer, including legal contracts, insurance policies, and correspondence. Other records include a transcribed copy of his obituary as well as Greenwood genealogy, and a page from the diary of his wife, Charlotte Greenwood.

Sous-fonds consists of personal correspondence with a Mrs. Arthur Lawler of Whitby, various photographs of Florence's son, John with Nazi collaborators, transcribed entries from the Dictionary of National Biography on Leo and John, and Florence's obituary.

Sous-fonds consists of newspaper articles (original and transcribed), photographs, one oil painting created by Mrs. Margery Greenwood, several political cartoons, and other reference materials related to 1st Viscount Greenwood. Various photographs of the Viscount are also included. Finally, there is material and correspondence relating to the planning and celebration of various functions held in Greenwood's honour in Whitby, ON.

Item consists of a newspaper article written by Brian Winter and appearing in the Oshawa Times on 27 November 1980 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the appointment of Reverend Adye as rector at All Saints' Anglican Church. Adye was expected to attend the church service held in his honor as well as the following reception. The article also contains Reverend Adye's biographical information.

Series consists of the incoming and outgoing correspondence of Reverend Adye. Correspondence relates to the activities relating to All Saints' Anglican Church and the 1st Viscount Greenwood. There is also correspondence which pertains to Adye's involvement in organizing the Drumhead Service in October 1937.

Series is comprised of the financial records of the Whitby Dunlops. Records include accounting ledgers, balance sheets, accounts payable and receivable, reports from the treasurer, and payroll information.

Series consists of records pertaining to the administration of the Whitby Dunlops by the Whitby Senior Hockey Club Board of Directors. Records include the minutes of directors’ meetings, insurance policies, inventories and membership lists, official incorporation documents, by-laws, and the memorandum of understanding establishing the Whitby Senior Hockey Club. This material records in detail the events surrounding the folding of the Whitby Dunlops.

Series consists the incoming and outgoing correspondence of the executive members of the Whitby Senior Hockey Club, especially the general manager, Wren Blair. There is a file of general correspondence and files pertaining to player acquisition, insurance, and the Ontario Hospital Tax. Records also relate to the membership of the Whitby Dunlops in the Ontario Hockey Association. There is one file of the incoming and outgoing correspondence of Whitby Mayor Harry Jermyn with regards to his support for the Whitby Dunlops.

Series consists of correspondence with various businesses regarding either sponsorship of advertisement with and for the Whitby Dunlops. Series also consists of lists and other documents created to account for program advertising, including invoicing.

Series consists of souvenir programs, event invitations, and other items of an ephemeral nature.

Fonds consists of newspapers, photographs, financials, and personal documents relating to the professional and private lives of Carl Mantz, including his wife Elizabeth Gibson. Included in the fonds are records pertaining to the purchase and maintenance of the Whitby Weekly News building, correspondence and letters regarding his enlistment in the RCAF, programs and background information for the Ten Centuries concerts, and the meeting minutes for his initiatives concerning Whitby senior citizens. Of particular interest are the newspaper photographs which represent various events, people, and places of Whitby in the 1950s and 1960s. The fonds is composed of the following series: Elizabeth G. Gibson records, 1969; Personal records, 1931-1980; Community Involvement records, 1962-1975; Financial records, 1938-1971; Clippings; and Photograph 1950s-1960s.

Collection consists of memorabilia and material pertaining primarily to the activities of the Whitby Dunlops during the team's active years from 1957 to 1959. There is also material which relates to anniversaries and other events in the years following the team's dissolution in 1960. Collection is comprised of 8 series including: Programs, Publications, Ephemera and artifacts, Team information, Events, Diary of Kay Irwin, Postcards and photographs, and Video.

Series consists of the official programs for the Whitby Dunlops hockey seasons. There is one program for the final year of the Oshawa Truckmen. Series contains the special commemorative programs produced at the 20th and 25th anniversaries of the victory in Oslo.

Series contains a variety of collectible items pertaining to the Whitby Dunlops, including player cards, pennants, patches, song sheets, tickets, and signs. Series also consists of two medals from the World Ice Hockey Championship game in Oslo, one which belonged to Bus Gagnon, as well as the four pucks used in the games at Oslo. There is also a collection of lapel pins from the former Soviet Union.
