Daniel Fowler fonds
CA ON00009 F 1069 · Fonds · 1843-1894

Fonds consists of a volume written by Daniel Fowler, containing various agricultural and financial notes and a travel diary. The diary contains an account of his travels in Canada West (current day Ontario) in June 1843, upon his arrival in the country. The diary entries describe the countryside, the people he met, and his attempts to secure property. They cover the dates June 11 to 24. The volume also contains a large number of other notes, mostly undated. The volume was used by Fowler until at least 1857. Fonds also contains two copies of a typescript autobiography of Daniel Fowler. Although the last page appears to have been written in his last year of life, it is unclear when the autobiography was begun or who transcribed the volumes. The photographs are cartes-de-visite of Daniel Fowler, two appear to be photographs of a drawing, while the third is a photograph of Fowler.
