The series also contains the correspondence, minutes, and other relevant files of the committees within G.O.
The series contains the records pertaining to any form of political or activist action undertaken by Gays of Ottawa and/or the National Gay Rights of Canada group. This includes correspondence, briefs, news clippings, newsletters, and other items relating to topics of human rights, the criminal code, national and international gay rights, elections, police harassment, and the media.
The series contains correspondence between Gays of Ottawa and individual groups, media, or politicians as well as correspondence between gay groups, predominantly at a national level.

The series contains records relating to the Coalition for Gay Rights in Ontario’s governance, steering committee, membership correspondence, and conferences.
The fond consists predominantly of correspondence, reports, newsletters, minutes of meetings and other documentation relating to the history of the Gays of Ottawa during 1971-1986. The materials reflect the political action under taken by the organization on a local and national level. Materials also include those of the National Gay Rights Coalition (NGRC) of which Gays of Ottawa served as the national coordinating office during the mid 1970’s. Gays of Ottawa’s involvement with the Coalition for Gay Rights in Ontario (CGRO) is also shown through the number of documents held relating to the provincial group.
