MacDonald, "The pre-trial conference - maximizing the chances of settlement" by Gertrude Speigel, and "A comparison of the support provisions under the Family Law Act, 1986, and the Divorce Act, 1985" by D. Roger Timms. Also included in the file are panel discussion questions as well as a copy of Bill 59, an act to reform the law respecting property rights and support obligations between married persons and in other family relationships.

Saucier, editor of the Canadian Bar Review Ronald Merriam, and Dean Maxwell Cohen of the Faculty of Law at McGill University.

File consists of a variety of publications issued by the Law Society, including the Law Students' Handbook 1951-1952; a 1953 programme for "Hell to pay", a mock trial by Kenneth Jarvis; a letter sent to Law Society members on behalf of the Law Society Foundation, appealing for donations for a bursary fund for law students; and a list of benchers for election in 1956. Also included in the file is a copy of a letter sent by Howland to W. Earl Smith on 2 Feb. 1950 regarding Howland's receipt of a cheque for his services as a lecturer in Mortgages between 1949 and 1950, as well as a handwritten letter on Osgoode Hall Law School letterhead dated 20 June 1963 sent to Howland by Osgoode dean Allan Leal.
