History
The Northern Times, a weekly from Kapuskasing, started to publish The/La Hearst Tribune, in December 1973. Initially, most articles were published in English. Subsequently, columnists from Hearst wrote articles covering a variety of topics and presented the activities of the community and sport organizations of the area. These articles, were often written in French. The last issue of the weekly was published on March 28, 1979, wherein the merger of the Hearst Tribune with the Northern Times was announced.
