Biographical history

The daughter of Harvy. B Thornton and Annie Holdsworth, Glenna Eugene Murdoch (nee Thornton) was born on June 21st, 1905 in Woodstock, Ontario. On July 27th, 1931, Glenna would marry George Brown Gordon Murdoch, a Miller, who was from Aberdeen, Scotland. They would have a daughter, Joy Murdoch, who would later marry Robert Powell and become Joy Powell.

Glenna passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday May 12th, 1993 in Woodstock, Ontario.

Custodial history

The records were created by Glenna Murdoch. In the summer of 1990, the records were donated to the Woodstock Public Library by Glenna Murdoch. On October 31st, 2023, the records were transferred to the Oxford County Archives.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of records related to Glenna Murdoch, and mostly contains personal diaries and accounts written by her. It is arranged into the following boxes:

Box 4: 1955 – 1967
