George Taylor Denison (1839-1925) was a lawyer, military officer, politician, public servant, author, and military historian in Ontario.

No acquisition information is available for this fonds. However, prior to being acquired by the Archives of Ontario, the letterbook and photographs were presented to the Library of the Canadian Military Institute.
Alcance y contenido
Fonds consists of one letterbook and 43 photographs. The letterbook contains the correspondence of George T. Denison, written in his capacity as Ontario Immigration Commissioner to London, England, 1872-1874. The letterbook contains information on various immigration societies and Denison's efforts to promote English immigration to Canada. Also included in the letterbook, are Denison's private reports to Hon. A McKeller, the federal Commissioner of Public Works. The photographs document George T. Denison, his family members, collegues and his home in Toronto, Heydon Villa. The photographs also include a locket containing 3 daguerreotypes of George T. Denison his wife Mary Anne and locks of their hair.

No restrictions on access for most of the records in this fonds. Access is restricted to the locket containing photographs of George T. Denison and his wife for conservation reasons.
