Fonds 1996-45 - Foster Griezic fonds

Professor Griezic was born in 1935. He attended Waterloo College from 1955 to 1957. After graduating he worked as a Household Finance Representative from 1957-1959 and as a high school teacher for North East Northumberland District Board of Education from 1959 to 1960. In 1960 he returned to school studying for an arts degree at Waterloo University and was there until 1961. After Waterloo he enrolled at the University of Toronto graduating in 1963 with a B. A. (Honours). Then he spent a year at the University of Toronto's Ontario College of Education getting his teachers certificate. Once he accomplished that he studied at Carleton from 1964 to 1965 graduating with his M. A. in history. He then went on to Queens University from 1965 to 1966 graduating with his Ph. D. For the summer of 1966 and 1967 he taught classes at Queens University. In the summer of 1968 he served as a summer teacher for Carleton University. In 1969 Carleton hired him on as an Assistant Professor. In 1977 he was promoted to Associate Professor. He later became an Adjunct Professor and moved to Victoria, B. C. During his career Foster has received many fellowships and awards some of which are; Ontario Graduate (1965-1966, 1966-1967 and 1967-1968), Canadian Council (1967-1968 and 1968-1969) and Queens University Graduate School Fellowship (1968-1969 and 1969-1970)
