    Series consists of 15 drawers of cards regarding the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) fatal casualties and prisoners of war during the Second World War. The cards are arranged into RCAF fatalities overseas with known graves, RCAF fatalities in Canada and the United States with known graves, and Royal Air Force (RAF) fatalities in Canada and the United Kingdom with known graves. Also includes those RCAF fatalities with no known graves commemorated on the various memorials in Runnymede (England), Malta, Alamein (Egypt) and Gilbralter. There are also cards regarding “safe” RCAF prisoners of war in Europe and Japan, and “dead” RCAF prisoners of war in Europe, as well as “safe” internees in the neutral countries. The cards, in general, include the individual’s full name, service number, name of the squadron/unit, date of death or when presumed dead, the type of aircraft flown, religious affiliation, name and address of next of kin, and the location of the burial site.
