    Biographical history

    Rev. Dr. Edward Bragg was a minister of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. He spent almost forty years in the full-time ministry including ten years as a missionary in British Guiana (Guyana). Rev. Bragg served the following churches during his career: St. Andrew’s Church (Church of Scotland), Nassau, Bahamas; St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Aurora, Ontario; Central Presbyterian Church, Vancouver, British Columbia; St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Quebec City; and St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Creston, British Columbia. Rev. Bragg delivered the homily at Governor-General Georges P. Vanier's funeral. Rev. Bragg died on March 26, 1998.

    Fonds consists of a sermon book, sermons and sermon files. The sermon book lists 416 sermons and provides the title of each sermon as well as the date and location the sermon was first delivered and re-delivered. The first entry in the book was made in 1954 and the last entry was made in 1980. There are 416 sermon files that correspond with the entries in the sermon book. In addition to the sermons, the files also often include orders of service, newspaper clippings, articles and other related materials. Fonds also includes a small file pertaining to Dr. Bragg’s homily given at Governor-General Georges P. Vanier’s funeral, a copy of Dr. Bragg’s memorial address given at the funeral for Sir Malcolm McAlpine, and copies of morning devotions he delivered on CBC radio.
