Administrative history
The first school in Dunwich School Section #10 was built about 1859 on Lot 4, Concession 1, which was at that time the Leitch farm. This school was replaced a few years later by another log structure on the farm of Robert Campbell at Lot 7, Concession 2. In 1887, a decision was made to build a new brick school house on the same site. S.S. #10 was reduced in size in 1913 when its western territory withdrew to join the new U.S.S. #3. The last classes in S.S. #10 were held on June 29, 1965; beginning in September 1965, the students were bussed to the new Dunwich/Dutton Public School. In November 1965, the schoolhouse was sold by auction to Russell Campbell who later sold it to the MacLilley family.
