Administrative history
The Director General Centennial coordinated the participation of the Canadian Forces in the Centennial celebrations in 1967. First formed in 1964, in August of that year Brigadier C.A. Peck held the main position and the rest of the staff made up the Department of National Defence Centennial Planning Staff. This staff organized and administered projects on three different levels: provincial projects, miscellaneous projects (such as those related to Expo 67 and the 1967 Pan-American games), and national projects for the centennial celebrations. These national projects included the Tattoo project, which consisted of military parades being held across the country, and others such as Naval Assemblies and Ships' Visits, the CAF Motorcycle Display Team, and the Centennial Cadet Camps.
