    Administrative history

    The School of Home Economics is founded within the Faculty of Arts on February 24, 1956. The Sisters of Notre-Dame manage the School. In 1961, the School offers a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics, a Bachelor of Home Economics and a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Home Economics. The School changes its name to Department of Home Economics and Dietetics in 1966. In 1975, it becomes the Department of Dietetics and, under the Senate's recommendations, is integrated with the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science to set up a scientific nutrition section. The Department of Dietetics officially ceases to exist in 1979.

    Scope and content

    The fonds contain files which document the functions of the Department of dietetics. It includes minutes (1966-1978), annual reports (1960-1963, 1966-1979), student guidebooks (1970-1971, 1973-1974, 1976-1979), Liaison bulletin (1962), exam questionnaires (1975-1977) and correspondence. It also includes photographs of professors and students of the School (1956-1979).
