    Administrative history

    The Creative Arts Association was founded in 1948 and is devoted to promoting the arts in the City of Guelph. The Association consists of artists, artisans, and other people interested in the arts. In addition to hosting displays and shows, the Association publishes a regular newsletter to promote its activities and to list art events in the area, and hosts social events for its members and for the general public. The Association is still active in Guelph.

    Custodial history

    These records were held continuously by the Creative Arts Association until the time of their transfer to the archives of the Guelph Public Library in October, 2002.

    Scope and content

    This fonds consists of records created or accumulated by the Creative Arts Association including executive and annual general meeting minutes; newsletters and other promotional material; correspondence, advertisements, applications, and administrative records for projects and events hosted by the Association; and historical records doucmenting the development of the Association.

    The fonds has been arranged into four series.
