File contains the minute book from the Port Hope Mechanics Institute, April 1875-April 1887, and includes minutes and book lists. Newspaper accounts of the Annual Meetings are pasted in the book.

File consists of one letter of resignation by C. W. Weatherilt, dated October 14, 1886.

File contains one page of the "List of Voters for the year commencing 1st January, 1886, the Polling District No. 1, Ward 1, North in the Town of Port Hope, in the Electoral District of the East Riding of the County of Durham, Ontario." The List contains the names of those eligible to vote, their place of residence, post office addresses, "Nature of Qualification" (real property, son of owner, etc.), Municipality, Location (street address), Title to Qualifying Property (tenant or owner), Name of Parent, if the voter is qualified as a son of a farmer or other owner of real property also nature of parents title to real property.

Voters list is only partial, listing 130 names from A to M. The reverse has pasted on "1886 List of Voters PORT HOPE" and written above in blue pencil "Port Hope Mechanics Institute". It appears that this list which was used for the 1886 provincial election was used as a reference list of some sort for the Institute to draw members

Collection consists of a group of Cemetery Records for various cemeteries in the Municipality of Port Hope. For more detailed information, please refer to series-level descriptions.

Series consists of the transcription of Cemetery Records for Canton Cemetery. The research was completed by the East Durham Historical Society (now the Port Hope and District Historical Society). A description of the cemetery is found at the beginning of the document. There is also a map on the inside, demonstrating where each of the plots are located. The document then outlines the names on each of the plots along with the stone number. The names are listed alphabetically. Toward the back of the document, there is text that is written on each of the stones.

Series consists of the transcription of Cemetery Records for Knoxville Presbyterian Cemetery. Research was conducted by the East Durham Historical Society (now the Port Hope and District Historical Society). Inside the records there is a brief history of the cemetery, followed by a map of the plots. This is then followed by a list of the deceased with their plot number beside their name. There is then a description of what can be found on each stone.

Series consists of the transcription of Cemetery Records for Zion Bible Christian Cemetery. Research was conducted by the East Durham Historical Society. The beginning of the cemetery records contain a history of the cemetery. There is then a list of the deceased along with their plot number, followed by a description of what is written on the stone.

File consists of an invitation and programme for the Municipality of Port Hope Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, 18 Mar 2016. The dinner is held annually to mark the continued dedication of volunteers serving on the committees of the Municipality of Port Hope. The programme contains a full listing of all committee members who were invited to attend.

Fonds consists of papers and artifacts related to various Port Hope organizations, the Fulford Bros. Dry Goods Store, and the Downtown Revitalization "Norwich Plan," c1907-1975. For more detailed information, please refer to series-level descriptions.

Series consists of the financial statements of the Port Hope Lions Club, c1951-1965. It includes: Capital and Operational Expenses related to the Lion Recreation Centre and Swimming Pool, c1950s; as well as the Treasurer's Annual Financial Statement, 1964-1965.

Series consists of newspaper articles regarding various anniversaries and other events of the Port Hope Lions Club, 1960-1986. The articles were originally published in the Port Hope Evening Guide and The Port Hope Independent newspapers.
