History
College Street United Church in Toronto was established in 1925; formerly College Street Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1873. It is located at 454 College Street on the northwest corner of College and Bathurst Street.It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
Broadway Tabernacle United Church in Toronto was established in 1925; formerly Broadway Tabernacle Methodist Church, which was known originally as Spadina Avenue Methodist Church. The church began as a Methodist New Connexion mission and was first located at the northeast corner of Spadina and St. Patrick Street (now Dundas Street West). In 1876, the building was re-located to the northeast corner of Spadina and College Stree and in 1879 a new building was constructed on the site. In 1889 this building was demolished and replaced by another new building which was re-named Broadway Tabernacle Methodist Church. In 1929 Broadway Tabernacle United Church closed and the congregation became part of College Street United Church.
