Administrative history

Founded by Le Collège Universitaire de Hearst (Université de Hearst), Northern Ontario Research and Development Institute (Nordinord), began to publish NorAct in 1979. NorAct was a bilingual (English, French) newsletter that looked at varied kinds of problems and trends (then) encountered by municipalities, groups and individuals across the Northeastern Ontario. NorAct tried to keep track of developments projets in that region.

The collection contains the 19 issues published between January 1979 and November 1983. The newsletter examined the economic, environmental, political and social challenges then facing Northern Ontario communities.
