    Administrative history

The Markets, Public Buildings and Winter Fair Committee was established in 1907 to oversee the administration of the market and City Hall, and Winter Fair preparations. It was composed of five aldermen, from whom a chairperson was chosen, plus mayor. The committee was preceded by the Markets, Public Buildings, and Parks and Shades Committee in 1906. It was later succeeded by the Market and Public Buildings Committee in 1908.
