Scope and content
Fonds consists of incoming correspondence from amateur and professional paleontologists regarding fossil samples from the Middle Devonian era in southwestern Ontario, and local collecting expeditions. Most of the correspondents are from the United States, from institutions such as the Smithsonian, Princeton University, Vanderbilt University, and the California Institute of Technology. It also includes outgoing correspondence to Jean Wright of Grosse Point, Michigan, discussing personal events as well as paleontology. Fonds also contains a single photo of Charles Southworth, and a few printed items, including an article on Charles Southworth written by Jean Wright.
