History
E.A. Carpenter first appears in local directories in 1892 as a contractor. By 1894 he operated Carpenter and Co., timber and tie contractors, out of his home on 249 Main St., Fort William, in what is now Thunder Bay, Ontario. He took over and operated the Oliver-Davidson Sawmill on the banks of the Kam River. The company appears in the 1902 telephone book as existing on Simpson St. but by 1904 it had disappeared from the records. Carpenter was a member of the Liberal Association.
