The Canadian Joint Staff Mission, London was established on 19 April 1944 to advise the Canadian High Commissioner in the United Kingdom on service matters, to maintain close liaison between each service and its corresponding service in the United Kingdom and to exercise administrative control over all Canadian service personnel in the United Kingdom.It was composed of a senior liaison officer from each of the armed services and the Defence Research Board. On 1 September 1965, the Canadian Joint Staff Mission, London was reorganized as integrated staffs under a single commander and redesignated Canadian Defence Liaison Staff, London.

Series consists of papers relating to the Canadian Joint Staff Mission (CJSM) London during the 1940s. Includes messages between General Charles Foulkes and Raymont, as well as correspondence between the Secretary, Canadian Chiefs of Staff Committee and Raymont when he was Secretary, Canadian Joint Liaison Officers. Also includes administrative papers for CJSM during 1945-1946, including messages, minutes to meetings, correspondence and various other documents. There are also papers regarding policy and the history on the Canadian Joint Liaison Officers (London).
