History
The Defence Naval Supply Repair Panel was formed in August 1961 as the result of the reorganization of the Naval Technical Services which placed Ship Repair and Ship Construction in two different directorates. It is under the general direction of the Defence Supply Committee. It had been established to provide a means of consultation between the appropriate officers of the Dept. of National Defence, Dept. of Defence Production, the Treasury Board, and the Canadian Maritime Commission, for the purpose of correlating the operational and repair requirements of Royal Canadian Navy ships with the Canadian ship repair facilities.
