Administrative history

Calvary United Church, located at 290 Ridout Street South in London, was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. The congregation was formed as a Mission Church in 1890 in association with Wellington Street Methodist Church. The first building to house the congregation was at Hight Street and the mission became known as the High Street Methodist Mission. In 1911, the congregation held services in a new church building and was renamed Ridout Street Methodist Church. It joined the United Church in 1925. In 1958 as Calvary United Church. It opened and dedicated a Christian Education wing in 1958; further renovations occurred in 1989. It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
