          Fonds consists of material relating to J. Cooke Concrete and to William Jacob Cooke, and includes deeds and other legal documents relating to lands; correspondence; ephemera; news clippings; maps and plans; notes on biographical and administrative history; photographs; and artifacts.

          The photographs are arranged by subject matter and cover activities in and around the town of Deseronto, Ontario. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.

          Series consists of photograhs depicting the people and places of early Vaughan as well as the post offices throughout Vaughan Township (Norberta wrote a book Chatting About the Post Offices of Vaughan Township, Ontario, published 1983), Norberta was also a long-time journalist with the Woodbridge and Vaughan News and thus some of the photos she used in her articles can also be found in this series.

          File consists of nine (9) legal documents (and newspaper clippings) relating to the restoration of the Port Hope CN Station, 1984. It includes: (1) Agreement between ACO and Alan Zeegen Associates Ltd. (Engineers) 18 April 1984; (2) Inspection Report CN Rails Station. February 1982; (3) CN Railway Station, Port Hope Ontario by Martin E. Eaver, Director of Education & Technical Services, Heritage Canada Foundation Conservation Study, July 5, 1982; (4) Stipulated price contact, 1984; (5) Agreement between CNR Company and Ontario Heritage Foundation and ACO, March 1983; (6) Agreement between the Canadian Railway Company and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Culture and Citizenship and the ACO re: $180,000 between the 3 parties; (7) Document regarding the transfer of land between CNR and ACO, 1987; (8) Railway information kit for aid in the conservation of Heritage Railway Stations; (9) Newspaper articles concerning the reopening of the Station.

          Series consists of newspaper clippings (both copies and originals) related to various Port Hope hotels, c1854-1989. It includes: The Albion, Bletcher's Inn, Blackham's, The British, Canada House, Durham House, The Ganaraska Hotel, Hetherington's Hotel, Lake View House, Lees Hotel (Mill Street North), Martin Griffen's Hotel, Midland House, The North American, Queen's Arms Inn, The Plains, The Royal, Stenson's, St. Lawrence Hotel, Strong's Hotel, Turner House, The Walton (Queen's Hotel), and other miscellaneous inns, taverns and saloons. The series also contains two (2) paper napkins from the Queen's Hotel on Walton Street.

          File consists of research and correspondence related to the Port Hope Board of Trade and their interest in implementing the "Norwich Plan" for downtown revitalization, 1962-1975. It includes: a sample store front painting; information from the Community Planning Association of Canada (CPAC); correspondence between the Port Hope Board of Trade and other communities (i.e. St. Thomas, Peterborough, and Oakville); hand-written notes regarding the plan; information regarding group insurance for the Port Hope Board of Trade; planning proposal from Benjamin Moore Co. Ltd., "Walton Street Improvement Scheme" draft; draft proposals (including paint samples); and a copy of "The Norwich Plan for Downtown Restoration."
