          File consists of research and correspondence related to the Port Hope Board of Trade and their interest in implementing the "Norwich Plan" for downtown revitalization, 1962-1975. It includes: a sample store front painting; information from the Community Planning Association of Canada (CPAC); correspondence between the Port Hope Board of Trade and other communities (i.e. St. Thomas, Peterborough, and Oakville); hand-written notes regarding the plan; information regarding group insurance for the Port Hope Board of Trade; planning proposal from Benjamin Moore Co. Ltd., "Walton Street Improvement Scheme" draft; draft proposals (including paint samples); and a copy of "The Norwich Plan for Downtown Restoration."

          Item is a quilted wall-hanging, showing buildings of Port Hope. The buildings depicted on the quilt are as follows: Dunain, Belgrave's Water Tower (Greenwood Towers), The Octagon House, Pinehurst, The Bluestone, The Cone, St. Mark's Anglican Church, Port Hope Harbour, Town Hall, Robert Mitchell House, Forge Cottage, Chapel at Trinity College School, Walton Street, Viaduct, Ganaraska River, Wimbourne, North American Hotel, Methodist Church, United Church, CN Railway Station and The Belvedere. It was created by Betty Kerr (d. 2001) in 1984 to celebrate Port Hope's Sesquicentennial.

Also on the inside cover there is a brief introduction to Port Hope and the ACO Branch of Port Hope. On each page there are different pictures of Port Hope and buildings within Port Hope along with a short description. January: 1919 Aerial View of the Corners of John, Walton and Ontario Streets, February: Winter Scene on Walton Street, March: Walton Street Bridge after the 1936 Flood, April: Fire Bell on Walton Street, May: Barrett's Terrace in 1890, June: Little Bluestone on King Street South, July: The Royal Grill - 53 Walton Street, August: The East Harbour in 1878, September: Bank of Upper Canada at 86 John Street, October: Canadian Northern Railway Station on Hope Street North, November: Idalia at 85 Victoria Street South, December: Ware and Record: Tinsmiths and Plumbers at 18 John Street. The inventory includes pictures, maps and research completed by LACAC. Also an index of block numbers, building names, and dates. Each block has a short history written on it, including architectural characteristics, architect, location and year of building.
