This fonds contains a variety of documents relating to the Belleville Fire Department which include official policies relating to health and safety, arbitration, indemnity agreements with surrounding communities, uniform specifications, certificates and cards, labour-related issues, scientific studies, records of the city of Belleville and the Belleville Professional Fire Fighters Association in addition to newspaper clippings related to the fire department dated from 1907 to 2001.

The collection consists of records of various private businesses which operated in Hastings County, Ontario, which were gathered as a unit by the Hastings County Historical Society. Various kinds of activities and occupations are represented: collection of duties; public utilities; loan; general merchants; grocery; temperance; insurance; engineering; surveying; railway. Most of the individuals and some of the corporate bodies responsible for the creation of papers included in this fonds operated at a local or regional level, while most of the corporate bodies were subordinate to larger entities; most of these individuals and corporate bodies were located in Belleville. The fonds is comprised of business correspondence, registers of various kinds, cash books, ledgers, account books, journals, day books, and accounts receivable books.

Fonds comprises minutes, correspondence, press clippings, photographs and reports of the activities of the Hastings County Historical Society.

Collection comprises photographs, negatives and reproductions made and collected by the Hastings County Historical Society between 1957 and 2010. The contents cover a wide range of subjects, mostly of locations and individuals in Belleville and other communities in Hastings County, Ontario.

15 images rescued from the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf in the 1980s. The images date from the early 1950s and are pasted on to card. They were used in teaching children at the school. The collection also includes a colour print of 'Keep BCI in the Picture' a reproduction of 'East Side, West Side' by Eve Lucy, printed by Market High as part of the campaign BCIVS 2000, commiteeted to keeping the Belleville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School building as part of the Belleville landscape.

Fonds consists of records, including baptisms, 1847-1849, of John Street Presbyterian Church, Belleville, 1847-1924; records, including baptisms, 1858-1927, marriages, 1897-1925, of John Street United Church, Belleville (includes John Street Presbyterian Church), 1858-1956.

The fonds contains the papers of John S. Turnbull of Belleville, Ontario. Enclosed in the first file is a description of the property of a Mr. Forrin; a notice instructing Mr. Turnbull to pay Mr. James Anderson eleven pounds, ten shillings by Mr. James Turnbull; and a description of the west side of Front Street. The second file consists of items relating to Turnbull's estate including a list of properties he owned, a list of personal effects, the last will and testament of Margaret Campbell, the first and final wills of John Turnbull, and documents pertaining to a dispute over his estate by his family after his death, there is also a map of mineral reserves in Marmora. The third file is composed of various real estate contracts, the fourth file consists of real estate deeds, while the fifth file is made up of real estate leases.

The collection consists of financial papers, genealogy books, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, postcards, business cards, music books, horoscope, poll book, address books, ledgers, notebooks, birthday cards, letters, photos/photo album, cartoons, highschool entrance exam, recipe book, stamp book, programs/brochures/concerts, dance cards, yearbooks, certificates, reciepts, invitations, membership cards and text book/teaching book.

Contains four recipe books including: 'Quinte Cuisine' by the Canadian Federation of Univeristy Women Belleville and District (2005), 'Chefs of the City' by the City of Belleville Staff (1999), 'Our Best to You' by the residents of Quinte Living Centre (1982), and 'Recipes from the Hearts of Canadians' compiled by Volunteers and Information Quinte (2000).

A mix of catalogues showcasing locks and associated building hardware for all the companies involved, but focusing on Corbin. Box of files includes inter company correspondence, newspaper clippings, log books, photographs and shares. A number of other books include a job book for cylinder keys, manufacturing order books and department specific log books. Two awards are also included, 1 for the efforts of a flood control team in 1981 and 1 safety award received in 1960. The fonds also includes a plastic Corbin sign and a key made at the plant.

Fonds includes legal papers, photographs, correspondence and school yearbooks for Belleville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School.

The fonds contains a Daily Cash Transactions sheet with a hand-drawn layout of the coal yards, an envelope with the company name "The Schuster Co. Limited", miscellaneous materials copied from original documents including newspaper clippings from 1954; pages 62-66 of the Canadian Fuel Marketer ca. 1878-1978 issues; Weaver Liquifuels pages 55-60, 2 envelopes of negatives, and 110 photographs of various everyday operations at the Bill Schuster Coal and Lumber Company, as well as photographs of Bill Schuster and possibly his family. One is an aerial photograph of the site of the company.

The collection reflects the publishing interests of Nick and Helma Mika. It comprises four main series: photographic files, reference files, printing process files and other materials. The collection is strong in local history materials, particularly relating to the history of the United Empire Loyalists, railways, and the city of Belleville.
