Administrative history
The Beeton Women's Institute was organized by Mrs. Greer, October 29, 1920, at the home of Mrs. H.M. Aitken. Mrs. H.M. Aitken (Kate) was elected the first president. The Institute's contributions to the Beeton community included providing the Memorial Gates at Beeton Park, and various supplies at the community centre, as well as sponsoring 4-H Clubs and prizes at the Beeton Fair. The Beeton Women's Institute was disbanded as of June 11, 1996.
Custodial history
Beeton Women's Institute records were held by members of the Branch until it disbanded in 1996, when they were transferred to the custody of the South Simcoe District Women's Institute. In February 1999 the records were donated to the Simcoe County Archives.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of records of the Beeton Women's Institute (1920-1996), including minutes (1920-1996), current events (1944-1996), correspondence (1931-1996), and material submitted for inclusion in the Beeton Tweedsmuir History. Fonds is comprised of the following series: Record Books General Records Tweedsmuir History Records
