Item is a Trust Deed for the Port Hope Baptist Church. Paper dated 4 Aug 1856.

Physical condition
Conservation treatment completed by SSFC Students during summer of 2004. Document washed in room temperature, deionized water (2 baths); document placed in a bath of buffering solution of magnesium bicarbonate for 15 minutes; document removed to dry between felts and under weight; felts changed three times in following 72 hours. Tear repairs, infills of small areas of loss, and guarding of two folds completed on cover; light-weight Japanese paper (Kozo) used with methyl cellulose. Enclosed in a modified four flap folder for storage. Recommended storage between 18-20 degrees; store in dark storage, light levels 80-200 lux for reference use only. Store flat in four-flap folder; Wear gloves when handling document; do not fold document; note that one sheet is still joined by a very small piece of paper.
