General note
The teacher's residence was built on the grounds of the original Capreol Public School on the corner of Young Street and Dennie Street in Capreol, Ontario. The residence housed the single female teachers until it was eventually sold to Garnet Surch who was both the Grade 7 teacher and Vice Principal at Capreol Public School. The residence served as the Surch family home for many years.
