Ashfield Presbyterian Church, Ontario, was first established as a mission station in 1848 in connection with the Presbyterian Church of Canada. By 1860 it had been erected as a congregation and a building had been constructed. At the time of Church Union in 1925 the majority remained in The Presbyterian Church in Canada. In 1939 Ashfield was linked with Bervie and Ripley in a three-point charge, and in 1940 was linked with Ripley alone as a two-point charge.
