Ascension Lutheran Church in Corunna was founded in 1976 with worship services being held in Colborne Street School in Corunna. In 1977, the church was officially organized as a congregation within the Ontario District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (now East District of Lutheran Church-Canada). In 1981, a church was built. The congregation dissolved in December 1992.
