History
Argyle Presbyterian Church was organized in 1861 by the Rev. Neil McKinnon, a church building was opened that same year. Rev. McKinnon served the congregation until 1871. The church was a part of the Church of Scotland until the union of Canadian Presbyterians in 1875. Around the year 1900, the congregation of Crinan was united in a joint charge with the newly formed church at West Lorne. During the time of Church Union in 1925, Argyle chose to remain with The Presbyterian Church in Canada. The charges were rearranged and Argyle was linked with Duff’s Church, Largie. Knox Presbyterian Church (West Lorne, Ont.) (est. 1925) amalgamated with Argyle on September 30, 2000.
