History
The Archives is a central repository for historical and genealogical documents pertaining to the cultural, genealogical and historical heritage of Lanark County, in eastern Ontario. Open since 2002, collections include the land records and original deeds from the mid 1850s to the mid-1950s for all 14 original townships in the County; original newspapers; local listings for cemeteries, census, church and community groups; scrapbooks and publications.
Archives Lanark is an independent, non profit, volunteer organization, incorporated in Ontario and a registered charity in Canada. The nine-member Board includes representation from County Council.
