    Biographical history

Anne McGlashen Logan is a Toronto, Ontario based freelance writer and photographer.

She has written for magazines such as "Canada Country Home," "Flare," and "House and Home." After purchasing the Lorneville School in Victoria County, Logan developed an interest in single use schoolhouses and their conversion for other functions. Shortly thereafter, she began photographing old schoolhouses throughout Ontario in the late 1970s, and in 1987 wrote "School's Out: A Pictorial History of Ontario's Converted Schoolhouses." Logan has also written "Rare Jewel for a King," a biography of Frank "King" Clancy.

    Custodial history

    Scope and content

Fonds consists of ca. 10,600 colour photographic prints and negatives depicting converted one-room schoolhouses. The photographs were taken in the course of Logan's research for the book "School's Out: A Pictorial History of Ontario's Converted Schoolhouses".

The fonds includes 5 albums of approximately 600 colour prints depicting interior and exterior views of Ontario schoolhouses, with captions including name of school, geographic location and date of construction. The first album contains portions of text used in the introduction of Logan's book on schoolhouses.

Also included are ca. 10,000 colour prints and 35 mm. negatives depicting Ontario interior and exterior views of schoolhouses.
