    Alison Taylor Hardy was an arts and entertainment writer and editor with the Ottawa Citizen. She wrote a regular entertainment column called "Curtain Going Up!"

    Custodial history

    Fonds was originally donated to the Ottawa Public Library, date unknown.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of scrapbooks and loose newspaper articles of reviews from the Ottawa Citizen written by Alison Hardy. The reviews are for various piano, dance and song recitals given by the pupils of Myrtle Day, Rose Sinclair Flesher, Alice Valiquet, etc., upcoming musicales given by the Ottawa Junior Music Club, Twilight Music Club, The International Grand Opera Company, The Capital Male Chorus, etc, programmes for plays, such as "Ping Kwei Bit Yao" (Ping Kwei's Farewell at the Hovel) and "Lu Long Tsu Tze" (The Sixth General Punishes Son), and a souvenir publication entitled The Royal Tour of Canada and United States which was dedicated by the Canadian National Railways System. Some of the programs have notes on the backs that are related to the reviews written by Alison Hardy.
