Biographical history
Albert Tucker (1923- ) was a Canadian historian and author of "Steam into Wilderness," a history of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission and Ontario Northland Railway.
Albert V. Tucker taught history at the University of Western Ontario between 1959 and 1966, and at Glendon College from 1966 to 1968. He was appointed Principal of Glendon College in 1970.

The collection consists of 24 oral history interviews conducted by Tucker regarding the development of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission and Ontario Northland Railway for his book, "Steam into Wilderness". Interviewees include A.J. Foster; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sullivan; Jim Fletcher; Homer Blain; Tom Sykes; Mr. and Mrs. Will Gard; Ben Farmer; A.H. Cavanaugh; Mrs. Thomas Bird; Bill Ross, Jr.; Clinton Bainbridge; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cameron; Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Herron; Don McKelvie; William Potter; Bill Baily; J.M. Robb; Jack Court; Art Brightwell; Fred Findlay; Walter Benson; Mrs. George Booth; A.V. Booth; Sam Caldbick; John Campsell; Eva DeRosa. Subjects include the operation of coal-fired steam engines, construction of the Moosonee branch of the railroad, the Racine Report regarding the Ontario Northland Railway (ONR), working conditions of railway crew members, the impact of the railway on the Haileybury area and other anecdotal material pertaining to the ONR.
