    Biographical history

    Alan J. Slavin is a professor of physics at Trent University, and an adjunct professor at Queen's University. He is the recipient of the following academic awards: Trent University's Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching (1992), 3M Teaching Fellowship, and Ontario Lieutenant-Governor's Award for Teaching (1993), and Canadian Association of Physicists Medal for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (1996). Slavin was a member of Kawartha Ploughshares.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of correspondence, pamphlets, journal issues, and other material related primarily to the peace movement. Included are records of Kawartha Ploughshares and Project Ploughshares, and letters written between Alan and Linda Slavin and government oficials regarding nuclear disarmament, capital punishment, etc. Correspondents include Prime Minister Trudeau, Prime Minister Mulroney, M.P. Bill Domm, and others.
