General note
“Disorders, Strikes and Disasters: Military Aid to the Civil Power in Canada, 1867 1933” was written by Jean Pariseau in 1973. This publication would later be updated and become his PhD thesis entitled “Les Forces armées et le maintien de l’ordre au Canada, 1867-1967: un siècle d’aide au pouvoir civil”. This work is basically an analysis of more than 132 cases where the Canadian Armed Forces cooperated with the civil power in order to deal with a crisis.
