The Advisory Committee on Nursing and Technical Procedures was created by the Medical Advisory Board of the Toronto General Hospital in February 1970 and held its first meeting February 10, 1970. The Committee was empowered to “act in an advisory capacity to the Nursing Procedures Committee on matters which require medical opinion”, and to “review...and keep current a list of actual procedures authorized within the hospital to be performed by nurses or technical personnel.” The Committee was responsible for maintaining the Toronto General Hospital Nursing Procedures Manual.
Prior to October 1972 the Committee was known as the Advisory Committee on Nursing Procedures.
Dr. D.A. Stinson (1970-1971), Dr. T.P. Morley (1972-September 1979), Dr. J. Connon (December 1979-June 1982), and Dr. A.A. Scott (October 1982- ) chaired the Committee.
