The Del Broccos were one of first Italian families to settle in Vaughan Township, Ontario. In 1913, they emigrated to Canada and took up residence in Toronto, Ontario. In 1919, they moved to the hamlet of Carrville in Vaughan Township, Ontario.

McQuarrie (family)

The McQuarrie family ran a mixed farming operation situated in the area of Keele Street and Kirby Sideroad in Maple, Ontario. Purchased around 1830, the McQuarries farmed the land until it was sold in 1956.

Thomson (family)

The Thomson family was one of Vaughan Townhip, Ontario's early pioneering families who were heavily involved in milling. James Gibb Thomson emigrated to Canada from Scotland around 1830. He built mills on Lot 15, Concession 8 in Vaughan Township, Ontario which he later sold. In 1869, he moved ot Lots 12 and 13 on COncession 8 where he built a new mill, a large brick house, and a frame barn. His five sons acquired farms nearby and continued farming the land into the 1960s.

Page (family)
Família

The Page family traces its lineage in Vaughan to 1838 when 200 acres of Crown land on Lot 9, Concession 2 were deeded to Lewis Page. The farm was sold in 1959. Descendants served in World War I and were very prominent in the field of agricultural science.

Wood (family)
Família

Mary Wood (1908-1989) was a local historian specializing in the Vaughan Township-Woodbridge area. Her husband, Alvin Wood, was a life-long Woodbridge resident and local history aficianado.
