Administrative history

Acting on a recommendation of the Senate Media Study Committee, an audiovisual Center is established in 1968. The Center is known as the Communication and Instructional Media Center from 1969 until 1981 and then becomes the Media Production Services. It changes its name again in 1989, to become Audio-Visual and Reprography Services. It is a unit within the Teaching Resource Service and provides centralized services in photography, graphic arts, television and video production. In 2000, following a major restructuring of teaching and learning resources, the audiovisual service closes its doors. The Service sees part of its mandate intergraded into the new Teaching and Learning Support Service. This Service integrates the Center for University Teaching, the Center for E-Learning, the Center for Mediated Teaching and Learning, the Multimedia Distribution Service, the Reprography Service and the Forms Management Service.
