Administrative history
Established by the Senate on December 6, 1965, the Committee on Academic Planning studied long-term academic planning and the creation of new academic units. On October 22, the Executive Committee of the Senate enlarged the Committee's mandate: it was to study short-term plans as well and would review the report of the Academic Committee for Budget Review. On October 16, 1978, the Committee on Academic Planning assumed the financial reviewing functions of the Academic Committee for Budget Review. To carry out its mandate effectively, the Committee has at its disposal the resources of Institutional Research.
